For the schedule of events and transport options please see our details page.
We recommend staying in either Lisbon (35 min drive) or Ericeira (20 min drive). While there is no need to rent a car, we will have shuttles from both Lisbon and Ericeira, we do recommend it if you plan on staying in Portugal for any additional exploring. If you do rent a car, there is parking available at the venue.
Lisbon is about 3 hours from the Algarve in the south of Portugal and 3 hours from Porto in the north of Portugal. North or south there are plenty of worthy spots to check out. Make sure to ask for a Via Verde toll pass when renting as this will allow you to take the toll roads (cheap and fast way to go) up and down the coast.
Lisbon
We recommend staying in the neighborhood of Alfama, Barrio Alto, Graça, Estrela, Principe Real or Santos. Lisbon is easy to get around by walking (lots of hills), public transport or uber. There are plenty of great bars, restaurants and parks to check out in Lisbon.
Ericeira
Ericeira is a beautiful, very walkable beach town. If you want to spend some time on the beach during your stay or get a surf in, check out Ericeira. At this time of year, it can get a bit touristy so if you plan on staying here try to book early to guarantee a good spot.
The beach Ribeira d’llhas is a favorite of ours. This beach is nestled in a valley between cliffs and is an easy one to visit with parking and a cafe. There is also a walking trail that starts here and will take you along the cliffs to the beaches of Coxos and São Lourenço.
